Clergy

Our parish Priest, Father Djordje Cimesa, was born on July 23rd, 1983 in Vukovar, from father Jovica and mother Radmila. He completed elementary school in Borovo, and Theology at Saint-Arsenius Sremac in Sremski Karlovac in 2002 as a cleric in the Diocese of Backa. Again in 2002, he pursues his studies at the Orthodox Institute of Belgrade. In 2004, he settles in Canada where he was accepted into the clergy of the Canadian Diocese in 2007 and continued his studies in Orthodox theology at the University of Sherbrooke. The same year he marries Sladjana Lazarevic, with whom he now has 3 children: son Lazar and daughters Andjela and Katarina.

On June 3rd, 2007, on the day of the Saint Imperator Constantine and Empress Helen, in the Monastery of Saint Transfiguration in Milton, he was ordained as deacon of the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church in Montreal. He remained as deacon until April 12, 2008, when His Grace Bishop Georgije ordained him as Priest and named him as a Parish Priest in Sherbrooke and administrator of Saint Basil of Ostrog Parish in Halifax.

A year later, on April 15, 2009, His Grace Bishop Georgije appointed him as a Parish Priest of the All Serbian Saints Church in Winnipeg where he stayed on for three years.

On February 25, 2012, his Grace Bishop Georgije appointed him as Parish Priest of the Holy Trinity Church in Montreal and, for all his pastoral duty efforts, he was honored with the wearing of the red belt and with an enactment in 2012 received the title of “protonamesnik”.
