Dear brothers and sisters, dear parishioners,

As you all already know, the Government of Quebec has introduced a large number of restrictions due to the Kovid – 19 pandemic. No one has been spared. Among these measures, it limited to twenty-five the number of parishioners who could be present at liturgy, inside the churches of Quebec. All meetings in church halls are prohibited. Despite our major holidays that are coming soon, we must comply with the recommendations of the Government of Quebec to avoid find ourselves in a situation where we must close our Church and be stopped all gatherings.

Therefore, this year we will not celebrate Christmas Eve in the same way as we have done in previous years. The  sanctification of Badnjak will take place at 5 p.m., after which Christmas vespers will be served. The Church will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to allow all parishioners present to get in, light candles for their relatives and take a hallowed Badnjak. To respect the Government of Quebec measures, at the same time, a maximum of twenty people can be inside the Church. We ask you, dear brothers and sisters, in order to allow everyone to enter, do not stay in the Church for more than 5 minutes. We also ask you that one member of family come to Church, in order to avoid creating a crowd in front of the Church. Moreover, we ask the people over the age of 60 to come in the Church between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., and all other people after 6 p.m. The church hall will be closed and traditional Šumadija tea will not be served this year.

We are all conscious that it is very unusual to celebrate Christmas Eve in this way, but unfortunately, we have no choice. We pray to our Holy Jesus Christ to help us and whole world in this situation.

We thank you for your understanding and support our Church during this difficult time.
