Protopresbyter Vladimir Vranić was born in 1978 in Sarajevo, of the late Very Reverend Fr. Periša Vranić, and Jelena Vranić, professor of Music. Upon completion of the elementary school he enrolled into the St. Sava Seminary in Belgrade.
At the invitation of Hilandar monastery (Serbian Monastery on Mount Athos, Greece), after finishing one year at the St Sava Seminary in Belgrade, he continued education at the Athonias Ecclesiastical Academy on the Mount Athos, from which he graduated in 1997. He continued his education in the United States of America: first, basic studies at the Faculty of Theology ”St. Sava” in Libertyville (USA) in the period from 1998-2002, and then postgraduate studies at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in New York (USA), 2004-2006.
He was ordained to the rank of deacon in April 2006, and in September of the same year to the rank of presbyter, by the hand of Metropolitan Christopher (Kovačević) of blessed memory of Midwestern America.
Until now, he performed the following services in the Church:
• Parish priest at the church of St. Basil of Ostrog in Lake Forest (North Chicago) 2006-2009,
• Secretary at the Office of the Holy Synod of Bishops for external church affairs 2009-2015,
• Head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch 2015-2016,
• Priest at the Cathedral Church of St. Archangel Michael in Belgrade 2009-2016,
• Editor of the Information Service of the Serbian Orthodox Church 2009-2016,
• Parish priest at the church of St. Archangel Gabriel in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada 2016-
2017 and Missionary Parish Administrator in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada,
• Parish priest at the church of St. Sava in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, 2018,
• Parish Priest at the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Windsor, Ontario, Canada,
2018-2024.
• Editor of the English section of the official journal of the Diocese of Canada “Istocnik”, 2018 -.
By the decision of His Eminence Archbishop of Toronto and Metropolitan of Canada Dr. Mitrofan, from August 2024, protopresbyter Vladimir Vranić was appointed parish priest of Montreal at the Holy Trinity church and administrator of St Simeon the Myrrh-gusher church in Sherbrooke.
