Dear brothers and sisters,

At the gracious invitation of Fr. Constantin Ciubotariu from the Romanian Orthodox Church of the Holy Archangels (2430 Av. Charland, Montréal), we inform you that the Sacrament of Holy Unction will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Archangels on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, beginning at 6:30 PM.

Fr. Constantin has invited Fr. Vladimir Vranic to concelebrate at this Holy Mystery, and through this brotherly invitation all the faithful of our community are likewise invited to participate prayerfully in this great and saving gathering.

The Sacrament of Holy Unction is Christ’s gift to His Church. It is the Mystery of healing of soul and body, forgiveness of sins, and spiritual and bodily strengthening and renewal. As the holy Apostle James teaches us: “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” (James 5:14–15)

Throughthe anointing with blessed oil and the prayers of the priests, we ask the Lord to heal, comfort, strengthen, and enlighten us. This prayerful gathering will take place on the day of the repose of St. Bishop Nikolaj Velimirović of Ohrid and Žiča, a great shepherd and teacher of the Church, who by his life and teachings calls us to repentance, faith, and living trust in God’s mercy.

Let us come in love for the Lord, as one Body of Christ, to receive the grace of this holy Mystery.
